Do You Hide From Your Kids? I Do…

Balance Is An Important Part Of Parenting Sooo…

I’m hiding out..

My daughter is downstairs and she’s had a hard time with the transition from her outside school (they’re outside all day! rain or shine! so, so happy for her and for all the other kids who get to be outside).

Her after-school sitter picked her up and brought her home, and I’m hiding out at my desk finishing up some tasks hoping she doesn’t hear me.

I have snacks, coffee, water, all my papers.. everything I need so I don’t have to show up downstairs before 5.

I’ve got lots of balance, and part of that is letting some other nice woman hang with my daughter from 2:30-5 several days a week. I’m working on openly accepting the support instead of feeling guilty.

I invite all of us hiding out right now to do the same!

Anyone else hide from their kids in the afternoon?

Here’s to normalizing the hideaways, and getting rid of any of the guilt and the *shoulds* around our work/family balance.

( PS- you can spot my Unit 1 Key Points for my Raising Resilient Kids class behind me. Once a teacher/chart paper junkie… always a chart paper junkie.)
